Why Bridal Prep is my favourite part of the day

Bridal Prep gives a unique opportunity for special photos, and in this blog post I share exactly one.

Don’t get me wrong, every part of your day is special for different reasons. But as a photographer, I love to start the day with joining you for bridal prep. There’s always a hive of activity as you and your nearest and dearest get ready, and it’s a perfect opportunity for me to get to know the key people from your wedding. Consider me as one of your bride tribe during that time! The rest of your day will definitely be a whirlwind, so it’s nice to have a chat before you are super busy getting married.

If you have young children at your wedding, which many of my couple’s do, if they are at the bridal prep it’s also a great opportunity for me to start them warming up to me, so by the time we have family portraits later in the day we are like old friends! There’s also nothing cuter than a little one in their wedding outfit – it might not last the day so best to capture that early!

The wedding industry is full of amazing talent across all the suppliers, and whilst I get to witness most of a wedding day, many other suppliers only see a small glimpse. So for me, to be able to connect with the hair and make-up artists, the florists and the cake makers and anyone else involved “behind the scenes” on your day is a great way to make new connections, and I always love to share any photos I take of their work with them after the event to further support their business.

But my absolute favourite part of bridal prep has to be – the details. This is my time of the day to be creative and capture all the small things that you have thought about, to make sure they feature in your wedding gallery. So before I arrive, pull together a bag of your wedding stationary, jewelry, perfume, special lipstick and anything else important to you for your special day, and let me work my magic to capture those little details that you have thought so long and hard about.

The Key to Success in Your Photography Business

So I made a conscious decision to take my business to the next level, and there were two key elements that helped with that: learning from more successful individuals, and crafting an effective marketing plan.
